Medical laboratories often receive only a single tube with sample material for clinical-chemical / immunological analysis, but the requested analytes need to be determined on different analysis units. In this case, aliquoting, that is, separating the sample material into secondary tubes, allows you to work in parallel and thus saves time. The AL-Flex has the technical solution for this.
Open primary tubes intended for aliquoting are loaded into the device in predefined source carriers. In the laboratory information system (LIS), a query for every primary tube retrieves the information for the required secondary tubes. The AL-Flex labels each secondary tube with a copy of the primary barcode and pipettes the required volume into it. Conductive disposable tips ensure precise fill level measuring and contamination-free pipetting. Secondary and primary tubes are transferred onto previously defined target carriers and manually brought to the analysis unit for further processing.
